What is Happening Right Now.

Hello everyone its DigitalAK,

I know we’ve been silent for a while. The current team doesn’t have any platform we use to communicate aside from emailing to each other. Which brings us to Setsuna, I have mailed him multiple times and I have yet to receive any reply, its been weeks since the last message.

However, it turns out that he made plans with a another translation group to help us translate Saijaku Bahamut. Our plan was to work on one volume at a time, alternating with “Mofumofu translation” every time a volume was completed. They’ve already worked on a couple of volumes for Saijaku and the plan was for us to finish volume 3, then start releasing a floodgate of translated content. Unfortunately, they haven’t heard back from Setsuna for quite a while too.

So this is what is going to happen, the boss of Mofumofu asked if he could translate volume 3. I reached out to Dual Blades on the matter and we were both okay with the idea, we also sent a email to Setsuna regarding the proposal, the Mofumofu boss did too. We waited for a while and gave them the green light to proceed with the rest of Saijaku. We didn’t drop the project, but we are forming a alliance to accelerate the translation of Saijaku. I’ve updated our blogroll with Mofumofu’s link, and here it is on this post too:
https://mofumofutranslation.wordpress.com/

Thanks again to Mofumofu for helping us out, and Setsuna please if you see this I hope that you are alright and nothing tragic has happened to you.

Their Saijaku content is locked at the moment, but its because they’ve been working on volumes ahead of schedule, continuation of volume 3 will start as soon as possible.

Volume 3 is not on their site yet*

  2. drake181 says:

    And any thoughts on madan

  3. kenchan223 says:

Man, I hope setsuna’s alright… it could be about his job and that he’s so busy that he didn’t have time to give us an update. That’s what I’m wondering.. :/

  4. ghost says:

Glad you guys gave an official announcement on this. Saijaku deserves the love you guys will give it. Personally I think its a bit underrated

  5. Valkyrious says:

Awwww i hope he gave a heads up for this but still we’re worried about him.

I’ve been longing for news from him T_T

  6. awaiting your return guys! stay well!

  7. Tomas Tomas says:

And again. No info about madan…(sigh). Not good. That’s what happening when only one translator there. If he (she) is sick or have a problem in life, then second translator will complete translation.
Anyway. Thank u for that info,DigitalAK

I’m depressed about no Madan info either, but comments like that (even if unintentional) seem pretty heartless. Your comment, to me, reads as if you don’t really care what’s wrong with Setsuna except that the fact that Setsuna isn’t here causes you to have to wait for Madan.

It was my last contact with Setsuna:

    setsuna86 – 07.02.2017
    Thanks

In Discord. I’m from Russian translator team RuRanobe and gave Setsuna some raws of his projects. But i didn’t see him from that time. Hope he is ok.

  9. God Ginrai says:

DigitalAK, I really appreciate you making this post. I don’t read Bahamut, so a lot of the meat of the message doesn’t apply to me; However, I think a post like this was needed to make us aware of the current situation and allay any fears that you guys just all up and disappeared. (like some translation groups have done… *coughTensaiz*cough*) Not only are you showing that you guys are still around and aware of our concerns, but you even had a message for Bahamut readers that they should hopefully be able to read more soon, which sends a message that you are doing what you can.

I’m concerned for Setsuna and hope nothing went wrong. Good luck getting in touch. Maybe this situation might become an impetus for some of the staff to exchange more direct contact details than just email addresses.

It seems their site is deleted. And I had read Assassin’s Pride from their site just yesterday.

    • jorgelotr says:

So it seems. Google still lists it, as well as its sections, but the blog has been deleted very suddenly.

      • Airstrike292 says:

There was problems with their old site. The new site web address is mofumotranslationblog.wordpress.com

  11. João Rosa says:

    Wtf mofumofu has been deleted

  12. drake181 says:

    Any info on setsuna

  13. bypasser says:

    thank you for the update

  14. wurr says:

Any word on setsuna? Side note, taking this experience in stride, are you guys going to plan for a back up way to communicate once this is solved?

  15. drake181 says:

FIIIIIIINALY A UPDATE IN THE TRANSLATION.

  16. Overlord Michael says:

Just notice that Madan no Ou to Vanadis volume 13 Epilogue is at 100% while chapter 4 is still at 55%

  17. Airstrike292 says:

Hey guys haven’t heard anything from you. Just wondering if you’re all okay and doing well. I hope that everything is okay and hope to hear from you soon.

    • DigitalAK27 says:

I think I’m going to make another post soon, but I haven’t heard from anyone so I’m going to reach out to fumofufu and see what’s going on.

      • Ash says:

Hello, Digital. I’m Ash from Mofumofu. I’m working on Redrawing illustrations (Main) and Editing some chapters.

Everyone is busy lately because of exams and some are because of their jobs in RL. Because of that, our group chat is a bit inactive.

Well, our boss doesn’t have any plans yet (or maybe he still didn’t tell me what to do next)… Let’s just wait for the higher-ups. Lol.

I’m currently working in editing some illustrations in Rokudenashi (From yuNS’ translation). If you want to fasten for deliving the message to our boss (not through email but asking directly), ask me. 🙂

        Sincerely, Ash

I am a little anxious to know if the current Madan volume is still being translated, because it has been a long time sin e the last time an update was posted. I would be very grateful if you could tell us some tangible news, especially since vol13 has pretty major events going on, which I would be pretty sad not to be able to read for another extended period of time. If it is only a temporary pause, it would be reassuring to know.

      • God Ginrai says:

@DigitalAK27 Yea, I think another post is warranted. The fact that we still haven’t heard anything from setsuna is disconcerting… :\

@Anon The translator is MIA. We don’t know what’s going on, but AFAIK, the Editors intend to continue it as soon as setsuna shows back up with translations for them to edit.

      • Overlord Michael says:

I really hope nothing bad happen to setsuna

      • Airstrike292 says:

Thanks for the reply digital. I’m glad you are alright. Just wanted to see if everyone is okay and I know that setsuna is still MIA. Have you been able to contact setsuna at all since it’s quite worrying. This happened last time with code zero and he didn’t show up again until about a year and a half later. No one knew if he was alright or not and a lot of people were worried. That’s why I was asking if everyone is alright and if you have been able to contact setsuna yet.

  18. Anonymous says:

That’s exactly what I’m worried about Ginrai, as Setsuna went MIA seemingly without telling anyone, meaning there’s no telling when or if he will come back to continue translating. It’s been at least two months since anyone saw him and if we just wait indefinitely the editors may not be available anymore later.
So to avoid more problems and possibly an unfinished translation someone really should contact Setsuna if at all possible, so we can get a bearing on what’s gonna happen. And if no one can get a hold of him, well, there’s little anyone could do short of finding another translator.
